Accessories are not only intended to fulfill that fashion call but it has to fulfill its functional call. That is exactly what you can expect from Tote Bags, Tote Purses and Toto Handbags.

A tote bag is a medium to large square handbag or purse with durable handles to carry a variety of things and every day items. The term tote which means “to carry all”, can be traced back to the 17th century but it was not used in the same sense as today. The description “carry all” originated in the 40’s signifying it’s used as a “shopper”. These bags are perfect to hold all your necessary items as books, beachwear and others. Totes will eventually find their presence in boardrooms, boardwalks and beaches.

Today, it is still unclear exactly what constitutes a tote – you only notice that it comes in different shapes, colors and sizes. The common similarity to all totes is that it possessed one large interior compartment which is deal for everyday use. Added features are: a fabric lining, protective feet and reinforced corners.

Traditionally, totes were made of cotton, nylon, leather or canvas, although tote bags, tote purses, and tote handbags may also use such materials as vinyl, mesh or cutting edge raw materials. Catering to all fashion tastes, the materials can also be made of classic pebbled, glowing patent and shimmering metallic fabric finish, embossed fabrics, signature jacquards, suede shelving and other colored fabrics which are eye-catching and attractive to  behold.

Several supermarket chains are offering reusable bags, made of cotton, as an alternative to paper or plastic shopping bags. These are often labeled as tote bags or canvas tote bags to highlight its durability. Whatever be its name, it is a good way to help our environment.
