Am I allowed to put a small pocket knife in the cargo luggage?

Obviously I wouldn’t have it on my person or in my carry-on bag, but I was wondering- are we still allowed to have a small, 2-inch blade in the checked baggage? I mean, it’s not as if I could use it to hijack the plane or something if it’s in the cargo hold.
