Is there an assocation a small business could join to save on Blue Cross Insurance?

I want to keep my people on our primo Blue Cross plan but it is going up another 20% this year. I was hoping there is a group or organization I could join to get a better deal. I am in the NFIB, but they don’t offer such a plan.

Try the National Association for the Self-Employed http://www.nase.org/ — they have a group insurance plan though I’m not sure if it is Blue Cross. Just check with them

Shop around and reap the rewards of less expensive health insurance plan. We hear this all the time. For the obvious reason that we don’t want unnecessary spending. Experts also often say take only a plan held by a well-established health insurance company to be sure of quality medical assistance when you need it the most. Practical indeed.

Health care packages from blue cross lets you obtain the services you want for yourself or for a small business. Multiple solutions are available with which both vision and dental plans besides the medical plan are included.  Low monthly premiums, reaching as low as $77, offer wide range of services including dental exams, cleanings and x-rays. Plans are also flexible for pregnant women to avail maternity benefits and to transfer to Blue Shield Spectrum Plan for a more comprehensive coverage.

Depending on your need and budget, you may want to settle for a short-term plan. For people who cannot afford to commit with long-term policies and those who don’t have permanent job, a 30-day to 6-month health insurance plan is considerably good. And given the low premiums for as much as 80% services costs covered, it’s definitely one good option. Others no longer want to worry themselves of juggling different plans so they go for individual plan, which is called the Blue Shield Essential Plan. The Balanced Plan, which is designed for small-business or small group health insurance plan, can be obtained with affordable premiums and deductibles. First-dollar coverage applies for doctor visits, preventive care, emergency room services, and prescription drugs prior to meeting annual deductibles. Chiropractic and acupuncture services are covered as well. Small business can also enroll in Blue Cross BeneFits that require 2 to 50 employees for $50 starting premiums. Here, options included basic health insurance plan added with dental, vision or life coverage.

Blue Cross also have Tonik plan for young adults between 19 to 29 years of age. The rate of the plan, which ranges from $60 to $80 per month, is best described by age, location, lifestyle, medical history, and health insurance requirements. Tonik plan covers most laboratory needs, x-ray requirements as well as certain specialized procedures scheduled under office visit of co-payment. Also included dental and vision care along with generic prescriptions, doctor’s visit, and hospital stay. For full coverage, it is only required to meet your deductibles. And to avail of discounts, simply live a healthy lifestyle.
